Ron Miller moved into Whiteford Township in 1997, but first fell in love with the community in

1985 after being invited to join the Ottawa Lake Fireman’s bowling league. Through that

experience, he met many great people and knew it was where he wanted to call home. It took

12 years to find the perfect place, but he ultimately settled in the township he had grown to love.

He is the owner of Ron Miller Race Cars, a business specializing in race vehicles. In addition to

race car work, the company also takes on a wide range of welding and fabrication projects,

reflecting the needs of the local community.

In the spring of 2020, he had the idea to create a festival to help fund a playground at Whiteford Stoneco Park. With support from the township supervisor, planning began and the Whiteford Fall Festival was established. By 2026, those efforts helped bring an inclusive playground to the park, allowing children of all abilities to enjoy ADA-certified equipment.

He remains humble about his role in the festival’s success, crediting a few online posts and

nearly six years of dedication from a talented and committed group of community members who share a vision for Whiteford Township.
