Mel has been proud to call the Whiteford community home since 2011. After moving to the
area with her family, she quickly found a place there—not just professionally, but personally—through service, family life, and community involvement. She has been an active participant with the Whiteford Fall Festival Committee for the past six years, contributing behind the scenes to help make the event a success. Over the years, she has volunteered with logistics such as parking coordination, the kid zone, and bounce houses, helping ensure the festival remains a welcoming and enjoyable experience for everyone.
In addition to the Whiteford Fall Festival, Mel has also supported other cherished local events,
including A Walk in the Park and the Summer Movie Nights in the Park, believing strongly in the
importance of creating safe, fun, and inclusive spaces where families can connect. She is the proud mother of three children, all of whom attend Whiteford Agricultural Schools. Spending time with her kids is one of her greatest joys, whether they are involved in school activities, supporting the local community, enjoying the outdoors, or simply being together at home.
Professionally, Mel’s work as a veterinarian reflects her deep commitment to safety, science,
and care—values that also extend into her lifelong love of animals.
